Rare Reds4life Posted May 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Interested in some information from veteran Seaside cruisers on the rules for the zipline. What are the age and height/weight requirements and limits? Do you have to wear a certain type of shoe? Can you wear a GoPro camera?

dexddd Posted May 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2019 I saw some small kids going and go pros and surprised how many people were going. It isn't really that long. Sorry no pics of rules.

On our sailing, they would strap folks flip flops to their harness and send them on their way. They would let you take a camera as long as it was affixed to you in some form. They were being very strict about having proper clothing (no bathing suits) and your clothes had to be dry.
Mojobaby7 Posted September 15, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2023 Lcookie, thanks for the information I was planning on doing the zip line but was curious if they would allow you to take your phone for pics or a video ? I’m sure if you have to be in some sort of case with a lanyard or a strap around your wrist that may work, if not you could definitely do a helmet Mount GoPro ? Rare CruisingWalter Posted September 16, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2023 Closed toe shoes. They said "No" to any form of camera when we did it in May, even if it was affixed.
Envelope21 Posted September 16, 2023 #9 Share Posted September 16, 2023 What is the cost for the zipline?

In May we were told that you could if it was affixed.

No pics = no evidence in the event something goes wrong as a result of negligence. No thank you.

No thank you. Well except for the dozens of cameras all over the top deck of the ship, including one at both ends of the zipline. In general there are 900 - 1000+ cameras on a modern cruise ship that size. So much evidence.... 😅

I also have video of myself doing it taken by my friend, and I videoed theirs when they went. I just don't have a video of my POV. Which is probably better evidence if something went wrong than from the rider's point of view.
