Casino Royal Offer for lowest tier player

Recommended Posts

On my first cruise on Indy in March, I spent some time in the casino on the slots and have received an offer from Casino Royal for a "deeply discounted cruise" and $150 in freeplay.  I only achieved the base level for rewards.  Is it worth calling to check on the offer?  How deeply discounted could it be at a minimal level?  I HATE calling for these things (due to an outbound telemarketing job in college , LOL).  The phone is my least used app on my phone and I prefer to keep it that way 🙂

I've deleted my name and C&A number but this is a sample of my offers. It should populate immediately after you put in your name, C&A number and hit look up.  I have a lot more offers but only 2 at this time that I am able to take advantage of. I don't golf, have no desire to go to New England since that is where I grew up and I currently live 10 minutes from the baseball stadium and never go to games.

  • 2 weeks later...

My mom just got a casino rate offer.  Turns out when I called to check, the price of the current BOGO50NRD rate is lower than the casino rate!  They would give her the additional $50 off that came with the offer though.

She's also a base level player, this is the first time that she's received an offer.  Went into clubroyaloffers and there was one from May that she never even knew about...never got an email or a snail mail offer.

It was a bit disappointing for her, but she's not a big player, maybe $400 or so per cruise, but she was pretty excited thinking that she might get a better cabin rate.

That's the norm. What was nice in the past is that Royal honored combining that discount with a couple others we earned.

We are planning another cruise and while my wife and I are both prime with many offers the two other couples are minimal casino players.  I suggested they both check their casino offers and one had a 5% discount and another had a 10%.  So, it may be worth checking.

I broke down and called them.  The internet form didn't work for me for some reason.  They offered a discount of about $400 off of current rates (which included the $150 free play as a discount). Cruise price was $2500 on the website.  I actually had a better rate from my TA once you factored in the OBC received and prepaid gratuities from them.  Wasn't a bad deal but not what I would call "deeply discounted".

Yeah unless you spend about at least $2,000 -$3,000 on a 7 night cruise your discount from Casino Royale won't be that great.. I don't know why they even bother sending those offers you got to people.. It just gives false hope.. The "casino rates" are basically nothing.. You need to reach Prime to get any good discounts.. at that level they start sending full comped cruises and discounts of between $500-$1000 off cruises.. I wish Club Royale was more transparent but they seem to try to play these silly games offering low level gamblers "casino Rates" and I realize that to some people spending $400 in the casino is a lot but its really not in the gambling world. Anyway just my opinion on the situation..

That's how it worked for me. Last year I wasn't prime and would get offers for $250-$300 off, but now that I'm Prime they send me all kinds of compd cruises to pick from. Just can't do most of them. We are doing Alaska in a couple of weeks on the Ovation. I got an Oceanview balcony that was selling for $5900 for $1700.

The only correction I will make to this post is that it goes by how much you wager  not how much you spend. There is a difference. Gotten many comped cruises from Royal, only having to pay port fees and taxes as a prime.

not so- i applied my $300 discount to an already booked cruise for February 2020 from a cruise i did the end of March this year.  It all depends on who you get on your call- if i get the foreign call center i thank them and hang up and try again until i get the US call center who are much more helpful.

The $$ off certificates are only valid on bookings made within 30 days. Group bookings made with a travel agency are not allowed. Also the sail date has to be within one year of the date on the certificate.

Being a Prime member gets you a "free" (except for port charges and fees) up to 8 night cruise not valid on holidays In an inside cabin. You are free to upgrade but you can not use C&A balcony discounts.

Prime (2500 casino points for the year Apr 1 to Mar 31) is a great deal but you have to play the game of booking cheap cruises. We booked the Ovation in July and was able to upgrade to a balcony for $900 total spent for the 2 of us. That cruise would have cost us $3000 to $3500

For Signature (25000 casino points) you get a balcony and free internet (for that cruise).

If you cruise a bit 4 times a year or more. Prime is not hard to make. We set our loss limit at $500 for a 7 nighter So we are not high rollers. But you are not going to accumulate points betting 30 cents a spin. You earn one point for every $5 played on the machine. Not how much you put in it originally. So if you get a machine that is paying enough to keep you there you can do okay.

Where the plan makes the casino money is people don't win a bit and cashout. And if you keep playing you will give it all back But earn a lot of points. On our last cruise on the last day after I had earned my target points I hit for over $1000. Then pulled the ticket, and put a fresh $20 in. I played that down and left.

Yes it does depend on how much you wager but also how much you spend.. There were times I wagered between $25 and $50 a hand at blackjack but because I lost $3000 for the week the Casino host bumped up my certificate at the end of the cruise. So basically they use many factors.. All I am trying to say is the casual gambler is not going to get a comped cruise.. I get many comped cruises intact thats all I go on and I go on like 7-8 per year..

You had to wager way more then 3,000.00 to lose 3,000.00 unless you lost every wager. Most people gambling at the tables tell the dealer etc. that they want to be rated while gambling. If you wager 3,000.00 dollars while playing and you win 1,000.00 dollars. you lost 2,000.00. but you bet 3,000.00 in the casino. They rate your slot play by your card in the machine that you are playing. If you put 1,000.00 into the machines that is what they rate. If you win 500.00 then you lost 500.00, but you are rated by the fact that you wagered 1,000.00.

I usually play slots and some 3 card poker. Within 15 mins time form entering the casino and putting my card in a slot machine the casino host will come to my machine and say welcome back Mary Ann how have you been, can we get you a drink etc. On my last cruise I wasn't feeling well on some days so I didn't get to gamble as much. On the next to last night the casino host came up to me and asked if everything was ok because you haven't been wagering as much as you usually do. They don't track your winnings but your wagering, unless you hit a big one

The Casino Host can also help by upping the discount certificate that is issued based on points. On our last cruise my husband played the slots every evening but never got a nice hit. He only made around 700 points. But we interacted with the casino host every night and we were very happy when the host gave my husband a $200 discount certificate, even though he did not reach 800 points.

Great info on this thread!!  After all our cruises, this is all new to me.  We are not big gamblers but will be at BJ table every night of the cruise.  I keep my bets at $10 a hand, DH will usually bet $25 to $50 a hand.  We generally get off the ship with our money and have never left behind more than a few hundred dollars.  I just checked with his C&A number and there was nothing (but our last Royal cruise was a few years ago).  When we get off Symphony, I will check to see if there are any offers.  I'd be happy with anything 🙂

These offers will come from the casino host and have nothing to do with C&A. If you book one of these offers through the casino host that is who you have to deal with for any booking questions going forward for that booking. You will need your C&A number for further ID sometimes
