portable wifi service

Recommended Posts

Canadians booked to go on a Baltic cruise this summer and are wondering if a portable wifi service device (eg Tep Wireless) would be worth renting. Three of us would be using it. Does anyone have experience with this? Thoughts?

Personally I would buy a local SIM card for my mobile when arriving to Europe and then share the phone WiFi with the other users. No need for a portable device.

the solution will only work when ashore anyway.

We purchased a local SIM card in Copenhagen before embarking on our most recent Baltic cruise. We purchased ours at the 7-11 at Copenhagen Central.  I think you can also purchase them in the airport. Don't know your European gateway for your particular cruise but SIMs are easily obtained in Europe and, imho, are a great value.
