It's one of the main shows on NCL Breakaway in the main theater.  Parental discretion advised.  We (i'm 49 and Mom is 77)  loved it and plan to see it again on our next trip in September with my brother.  I know he will love it.  Really funny.

After Rock of Ages we went to Howl At The Moon for a few hours. We always have good time there and this was no exception. It amazes me all of the songs they know and how they all can play different instruments.

We lasted until about midnight then I was back to the room. When we arrived we were greeted by this towel animal.

Really enjoying your review.  Can’t wait till next April with you all.  While I know we will be on the Getaway, I know it will be an “Epic” adventure!  Thanks for the shout out on the Meet & Greet.  They are always a lot of fun and meeting great peeps like you make all worth while!

Today we will be snorkeling at the Barrier Reef. This will be an excursion through NCL. The excursion doesn’t start until noon so we ate breakfast at the buffet. We had our usual omelette from The omelette station. There was no reason to hurry so we had a few drinks and then decided to go to the pool on the island. We had been to Harvey  Caye last year so we new what to expect once off the ship. It is a long walk from the ship along the pier to the island. They have golf carts for those that need assistance.

We walked around the island for a bit then decided to hang out in the pool for a bit before our excursion started. For those that have not been to Harvest Caye just a heads up the beverage package does not apply on the island so be prepared to pay for your drinks. The pool is beautiful and there is plenty of room.

The vegetation on the island is beautiful.

what is Rock of Ages about?

In a nutshell - it's a boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back story, but set against the 80's rock scene.  Which means (at least in the Broadway version) sex, drugs, and Rock n Roll.  Most stuff is implied, but it is still there.  As a child of the 80's it is everything I grew up with.  If you've seen the film but not the stage version, the stage version is a million times better (my opinion only).  The music is all covers of (probably best described as) either arena rock or hair metal.

The guides really stress safety and they took us out 8 people per guide. The water was warm but it was windy so it wasn't real clear. The attached short video will give you an idea of what it is like as you start off. You can see they have crew members in kayaks to assist anyone that needs help.

We spent 50 minutes in the water. The guide stopped to explain certain things as we went along. To be honest the snorkeling was a bit disappointing. We didn't see a lot of fish. We have snorkeled at West Bay in Roatan twice so i guess that has spoiled us. We still had a good time. It was relaxing just being in the water. Our guide found a starfish and brought it up for us to see and hold for those who wanted to. He gently placed it back when we were done. DSCN1385.thumb.JPG.56c1344fe151164bd0d3194b8dc91b68.JPGDSCN1386.thumb.JPG.cda9109263569cbe51dcff25678fa12d.JPGDSCN1398.thumb.JPG.a20527577a843498ccf61f5f3a4d34ef.JPGDSCN1327.thumb.JPG.25db46e02d81ee207a8bd74fc3960efb.JPG

We were served Rum Punch on the ride back. It wasn’t the best rum punch we ever had. We also had bottled water that actually really hit the spot. Once we got back we looked in a few of the shops then headed back to the ship.
