Does the search button not work?

I hate repeating questions when answers can be found by searching.  When I search in  certain sub categories on this site  it gives me answers to my question site wide.

There is a drop down box, and you have to select 'this topic' or 'this forum'...Here is a thread from the 'Help' board that might explain it better:  EM

It works just fine for me but I use a computer. I think some people struggle using it on their phones and some app called TapATalk (I think that's what it's called).

Agree with OP that it dies not work on your phone.  I have to do this on my computer to get the desired results.

When you click on "search" this should give you a little drop-down menu.

It's set to search "everywhere".

So click on "this forum", the second option below "everywhere"

Then type in your search-word in the box & hit the go button.

"This forum" seems to me to be the more sensible default. But it ain't.
