Escape Port Question

It would certainly be safe on the ship. If you want to go ashore just take water with you. You won't be able to bring any leftover back on board but at least you know where it came from.

The ship docks in an area called Taino Bay that is located in Puerto Plata. This is a new cruise terminal area being built and from what i read it will be similar to the Amber Cove area that Carnival built years ago. This is suppose to be a l area exclusive for the cruise ship people. the main entrance will be gated and getting access to private tours might be difficult
