A nice problem to have - what to do with OBC?

Go shopping. Celebrity ships have lots of items to buy with your OBC. Bought a Kate Spade handbag last year on Summit.  Bought an iPad on Reflection. Spouse bought iPad on Eclipse.

My spouse bought a Tissot watch on a cruise. Did not have enough OBC to cover the entire cost of the watch.  Just considered the OBC was a big discount toward the cost.

If the OBC is from your travel agent, it's likely refundable, so no need to spend it.

If it's from Celebrity, extra gratuities would be greatly appreciated.

If you put extra gratuities, can you specify who gets them, or do they go into the 'pool'?

We wanted to leave extra for our cabin steward, so I went to Guest Services.  They give you a form where you can specify the total amount you want to tip, and how much to each of the people that provide service to you.  I think the categories were dining, cabin steward, "behind the scenes" housekeeping, etc.  I'm not sure if you can specify for someone like a bartender or someone in the casino.

Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. The only thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. Otherwise, here you go:

Gelato

Gift shop souvenirs, purses, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry, etc.

Gratuities, and extra gratuities

Guests dining with you in Luminae (applies to Suite Passengers only)

Guest entertainers' CD's and DVD's

Hair and nail salon

Hollywood hot glass experiences (some ships)

Internet

Laundry/pressing/drycleaning

Luggage Valet

Martini Flights

Medical Center

Mini bar

Portrait photo sessions

Pay-per-view movies

Persian Gardens passes

Photos & cameras

Room service up charge items, and late night delivery fee

Shore Excursions

Shuttle to town (some ports)

Spa -- massages and treatments

Specialty restaurants

Teeth Whitening
