The adult (18+) getaway on the Joy is the Spice H20 located at the back of the ship. A large jacuzzi is the perfect place to warm up on cool Alaskan days. And a private bar for those adult beverages.

I would say “Good Morning Ketchikan”, but we can’t see it. Gangway opened at 6:45.  We are at Dock 3.

The Local has a fresh new look. No more gloomy dark wood pub from the Sheehan era. On the Joy, it has a sleek, modern look. 

 

Like her sister the Bliss, lifeboats on the Joy are stowed inboard enabling canal transits. This makes everything on Deck 7 very narrow. This includes The Local.

Like the Bliss, the Joy has an enclosed smoking casino area. The Joy’s enclosed smoking are is a lot smaller than the Bliss. During the dry dock, the high limit casino (minimum $2000 bets) and the Haven casino were removed and replaced by The Social and the Haven library. And the number of slot machines was tripled (removing a lot of the tables favored by the Chinese market).

Thanks for all the great info.  If you still have it, would you post the Freestyle Daily from yesterday, Sunday, Day 2.  Would like to see the sea day activities.  Also, if you went to the Meet and Greet, would you post the card they give out that shows the senior Hotel Department officers?  Thank you very much.

Shorts are allowed in all dining rooms for all meals except Le Bistro and Ocean Blue, where gents are asked to wear long pants (jeans or dockers).

Thanks for posting the Daily from day 2.  I always like to check out the "meet your officers" section.  I see several familiar names from past cruises on the Breakaway and Escape.  And we had totally lost track of GM Djamel Benatmane.  Nice to see him on the Joy.  Here's a shot of him with Nancy on the Breakaway several years ago.

Thank you.   Much appreciated.         I seen someone ask a question on another post someplace and it got me thinking.    Are there any Joy model ships in the gift stores?  

I think I read somewhere that they only had the Bliss model.      

 

I wouldn't mind getting a Joy model if they had one.
