Unexpected Promotion to Platinum

We just completed a wonderful Regal Baltic Cruise and came home to find an email from Princess telling us that we were now Platinum.  According to our calculations that shouldn’t have happened until after our next cruise in January.  The email said that we had 5 cruises and 45 sea days which does not meet the criteria.  Two of our cruises did involve additional land packages (Alaska and additional days in a Copenhagen hotel).  Could that be the reason that we were unexpectedly promoted?

You next cruise is your 6th.  That should make you Platinum on it.

Platinum is "from" 6, so yes, you are now platinum for your next cruise.

Okay, I see.  I thought that we had to complete our sixth cruise to become Platinum.  Thanks for the responses and explanation!

Princess criteria is 5 cruises or 50 days to attain Platinum status.
