Buying jewelry onboard

I am told by a former cruise ship employee that watches are usually a pretty good deal. I was on a Celebrity cruise with another couple and he bought her a $4,000 ring that turned her finger green.  When they tried to get their money back, they would only give them a credit. So I would definitely check to see their refund policy.

If you want something nice, but inexpensive, look for the "Sparkle and Bling" sale near the end of your sailing.  I purchased 3 bracelets for myself, and a necklace and earrings for my DIL.  All were under $20 each.  Yes, it's costume jewelry, but it is nice and will still give you cruise memories when you wear them.

I find the stuff onboard way overpriced!
