drink tax in port

Hello everyone - we are leaving in a few weeks (YAH!!!) for a Canada/New England cruise with ports of call being Portland, Bar Harbor, St John Bay of Fundy, and Halifax.  Does anyone know if there is a tax on drinks at any of these ports like there is in NYC?   Thanks all.  First time heading north and looking forward to the cruise!

15% value added tax called (HST) in Halifax and Saint John on everything.

There is no "drink tax" in NYC.  There is a meals/restaurant/sales tax, charged on most things in NYC, which is in addition to the menu/shelf price.

Liquor in liquor stores in Nova Scotia is priced with the tax included. In restaurants there is the 14%HSTax. Remember our dollar is worth about 25% less than yours so that helps.

I think the OP means the taxes you pay on drinks from the bars on the cruise ship when the ship is docked.

There is a thread  in the NCL site which indicates the tax is applied until you reach International water , which is approximately 7:00:7:30 . Tax was  approx.
