Miami airport hotels

Coming home from Amsterdam we fly into Miami....will spend the night and fly home to Jacksonville the next morning...

would like a nice, not too expensive hotel right by the airport...

Try looking at hotels.com, narrow your search and then check TripAdvisor reviews.

Look at hotels in the Blue Lagoon neighborhood near the MIA airport - Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn, etc. There are also several Marriott properties near the airport.

We’ve stayed at the Hilton in the Blue Lagoon area mentioned above. Interestingly, it was cheaper than lower tiered hotels near MIA. 

 

In general, if staying near the airport, I would select a hotel in this area and avoid anything that’s on the north side of the airport along 36th street. That area can be very sketchy, specially at night.

We have stayed at the Hilton Blue Lagoon at least five times, and (clearly) like the hotel.

If you look at the Marriott web site they have several hotels at different price points very close to the airport.

Thanks for the Blue Lagoon suggestions. I’m going to check that out right now....
