shadowmeboy Posted September 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) In Skagway, the National Park has the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park. This park helps explain the Gold Rush, choices the miners had getting to the Gold Fields, and the history of the area. Over 20 buildings in Skagway are a part of the park. Make sure to check it out if you are in Skagway. There are 3 units of the Park in Alaska. Skagway Historic District The White Pass Trail Chilkoot Trail/Dyea townsite There is a 4th unit of the park is in Seattle. My DW and I have visited the Seattle unit 5 times and are still amazed and learn something each time. Make sure to check it out if you have time. It is fun and free! Great for all ages. located at 2nd Ave S and S Jackson streets in Pioneer Square. Here is a video we shot on our last visit to the unit in Seattle. donaldsc Posted September 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2019 There is also a ranger led tour in Skagway - https://www.nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/walking-tours.htm. It is free but I would suggest you book it in advance as it fills up early. DON

Rare geoherb Posted September 6, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2019 And there are other tours offered frequently that you don't have to sign up for in advance. This summer, I went on the one that went to Jeff (Soapy) Smith's parlor (saloon).
