Bay of Biscay

Will be traveling soon on our fifth Regent cruise. On this cruise we travel through the Bay of Biscay. I am told the bay can be rough. Has anyone had experience cruising the Bay?

Haven’t been on that side yet but my guess is it can be hit or miss...we’ve had both the smoothest and roughest seas sailing out of Barcelona...you just never know...

 We sailed through the Bay of Biscay in September 2017 going southbound.  I expected a rough passage but it was smooth as glass. YMMV

Anything is possible in the Bay of Biscay, but prepare for a little rough weather.We sailed on a Brittany ferry from Southampton to Spain and it was  an interesting 24hours and a night when we were rocked to sleep. This was more challenging as our ferry cabin was bunk beds and climbing in and out of the top bunk !!!!!

It was pretty rough our time there, not terrible or even close to the worst we have experienced, but you could feel a lot of motion.
