Smoking areas on the Joy

If it's like the Bliss, a nearly identical ship, it'll be the starboard side of Spice H2o and as a player in a walled-off section of the casino.  Oh yeah, The Humidor is available for cigar smoking only...

Here's the thread, search is great..

Is smoking allowed at the surf bar on deck 16 on the Joy?  Actually where are all of the smoking sections on the Joy?  We want to book a Haven room just under the surf bar but not if there is smoking there.

Thanks

The only smoking area for cigarettes is a small area in spice H20. And within the smoking casino for active players. Nowhere else on the ship.

Joy Smoking Policy (from Freestyle Daily)Smoking in  public areas is only permitted in designated space of Spice H2O, in the Humidor Lounge (cigar smoking only) or in the Casino only when playing. Pies, Cigar smoking and tobacco chewing is strictly not permitted in the casino area. Smoking of any kind is prohibited in staterooms and balconies. A cleaning fee of $250 will be added to your onboard account if you smoke in your stateroom. Electronic cigarettes are governed by the same standards as regular cigarettes.

There is officially sanctioned smoking on the Haven sundeck on the Joy. Front and center Deck 19 there are two big ashtrays. In the right headwind the smoke blows straight back onto your balcony on Deck 18, or onto you if you are in the hot tubs, or using the loungers towards the bow.

People also smoke in their recessed Deck 17 balconies.

It is harder to see on the first image, but look to the left of the five stools and you can see one. In the second picture it is next to the bin to the left of the hot tub.

There is no point reporting smoking to the crew when they are the ones who probably put the ashtrays there, and they walk past them all day. I did consider hurling them over the side, but that would have been ecologically unsound, and I might have hit a dolphin.

Enjoy your cruise. Breathe in that sweet Alaskan air.

On all of the BA/BA Plus ships, there is smoking allowed on the forward-facing Haven sundeck. It's usually restricted to the forward-most part of the sundeck.
