Rare rafinmd Posted September 21, 2019 #26 Share Posted September 21, 2019 Sounds awful but at least they know what it is. I hope the pain has gone down some or you are getting something for it. Roy
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 21, 2019 #27 Share Posted September 21, 2019 Thanks Roy About 35 years ago I had 4 very tiny kidney stones -- passed them. They were painful. Back then I was given percocet which has been taken off the market. In the hospital they gave me morphine but wouldn't give me a prescription for it. Instead they sent a prescription to my drug store which sent up a red flag because it has sulfa in it which I am alergic to. The drug store called the doctor and he would not prescribe anything else except Tylenol. So that is all I have for pain. So we shall see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Rare rafinmd Posted September 21, 2019 #28 Share Posted September 21, 2019 That's awful! Don't be afraid to pester your doctor if the pain gets too bad. I hope the stone passes quickly. Roy
Himself Posted September 22, 2019 #29 Share Posted September 22, 2019 On 9/21/2019 at 7:21 AM, Krazy Kruizers said: Sorry that I missed the Volendam sailing into Juneau. Thursday evening after dinner I ended up in the Hospital -- sever pain on the right back side. Tests were run. Kidney stone. Kept me overnight and most of Friday while the doctors decided what should be done. Since the stone is only 4mm, my surgeon decided to wait it out for 2 weeks to see if I pass the stone naturally. Finally got discharged around 5 PM yesterday. I hope the stone will pass without surgery.
igar39 Posted September 24, 2019 #30 Share Posted September 24, 2019 Some years ago my husband had severe pain and went to ER. He had kidney stone and I will never forget what the ER doctor said: "pain is worse than childbirth."
