jacobichka Posted September 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2019 (edited) Hello. Will be on New Year MSC Meraviglia cruise. Will MSC allowed to bring wine on board, like Royal Caribbean? Can't find any information. Thanks. Edited September 25, 2019 by jacobichka

perakcruiser Posted September 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2019 One bottle in the lugguage should be no problem. But also depends on the security checks of the departure port.

jdvmd Posted September 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2019 MSC Cruises Alcohol Policy: Bringing liquor onboard MSC Cruises ships at embarkation is not allowed. No beverage or food can be brought, unless there is medical necessity (baby formula is allowed). Bringing champagne or wine onboard is also not allowed. Purchasing alcohol in port to bring onboard: All alcohol purchases brought in from port will be held for safekeeping and delivered to passengers' staterooms on the cruise's last evening. Purchasing alcohol in ships' duty-free shop(s): Any liquor purchased in the ships' duty-free shops will be retained until the end of the cruise.
SeaSunset22 Posted September 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2019 If you decide to ignore the policy don't be surprised if they confiscate the alcohol/wine and return it at the end of the cruise.

marco Posted September 26, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2019 3X on MSC and I had a bottle in the carry-on. Went through the scanner and no issue. However, all 3X we sailed out of MIA. Friends had it in checked luggage and it went to "the naughty room", confiscated and returned the last night of the cruise.
frank808 Posted September 26, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) 14 days on Seaside in eastern and western caribbean. Did not see them confiscating any liquor in ports of call. Maybe they were but did not see it when boarding. Edited September 26, 2019 by frank808
Greenhopster Posted September 27, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 27, 2019 Hi Marco, Are the scanners for carry-on luggage at Miami cruise port, TSA people or MSC people? I don't think TSA people care about ship rules and would allow bottles thru. What's your take? Jim

They are a private security firm hired by MSC/PortMiami. Bret
