The Aida ship is Aida Vita and correction its Mein Schiff 5 and they must have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz Maybe the Iranians like the Germans 😎 Also Seabourne Encore and another cruise ship are travelling down the Red Sea and Aida Bella and MSC Orchestra are travelling up the Gulf of Aden

seems everyone else is happy to cruise the Middle East

Maybe insurance has altered there plans, would u not want to be safe, you can always cancel. I don’t think they cancel these ports without consultation with authorities, sometimes you need to just go with the flow and have a good time. And I think ur find that TUI is German so that makes no difference

Maybe a lot cheaper to not use Dubai- more profit for Tui. Classic profit before customer service

You cannot even ring Customer Service without a Premium Number now. Common time to speak to a person is 45 minutes. Guess what you have rung the wrong number. My experience this week due to Disembarkation change.

I am on 1November exit Naples to14 December to should have been Dubai

Think you find it’s a local number for tui cruise, no premium number needed

Im very aware that TUI is German and so is Aida but the difference is their ships have German passengers and Marella have Brits

I certainly want to be safe and won't cancel if we have to shuttle 2 hours from Dubai airport to the port but was hoping things would be more settled in April but puzzling that other ships are docking in Port Rashid and Marella are not sailing round the straits of Hormuz Maybe it is the cost of protection required. I can understand P & O cancelling when they fly the Union Jack and have one painted all over the bow of the ship but Marella are Valletta registered with a TUI logo on the funnel

Another change.  People flying out of Birmingham now have to return East Midlands. We were notified 5.pm day before we left due to runway maintenance. They must have known that for months. Just another under hand move from Tui

Hi Howard Unfortunately yes even short haul is a problem now that's one of the reasons we are doing E2 from Newcastle next, problem is Marella will no longer be sailing UK ports for 21, so we are looking after many many cruises with Thomson, Celebrity from your home port, don't think they have been released  yet. Still have our Caribbean memories 😎👍

That's strange just looking on vessel finder and it shows her doing 21knt in the Straits could be out of date🙄

Just to say we were on this cruise the first part `Naples to Dubai but instead ended in UAE as we were leaving it was announced that the original cruise itinerary had been reinstated due to the lessening threat to be honest you had a lucky escape suffice to say i wouldn't go on this ship again even if you paid me

Let me start by saying there were a few things they did exceedingly well such as afternoon tea in the buffet ,poolside entertainment the glasshouse in the evening and the cocktails on deck 11 and having drinks ready and waiting as you go into the theatre  and the enrichment programme unfortunately these were overshadowed by the following  1 thin towel per person for the pool no more available so a nice damp towel to sit on after a dip ,frozen vegetables in the main dinning room from day 1 , 6am pool bed dash, picking tiles from the pool and putting them on the side daily ,no pool waiters till late afternoon if you were at the wrong end of the pool deck, room attendant rarely seen rubbish not cleared from bin for 4 days and room cleaned with a lick and a promise dont think it saw the hoover whilst we were there so many accidents the joke on board  was they had run out of wheelchairs and crutches were being rationed speaking to others who had cruised with Marella before they also found this ship to be sadly lacking and recommended other boats in the fleet. I didn't pay a lot for this cruise and I got what i paid for but have to say i found this ship tired and underwhelming

Sorry you are not on a 5 star cruise line and can't  believe you expect to have more than one towel per day for your use Surely in hot weather you don't need to dry yourself just lie on your bed and the sun will do it for you

No excuse regarding the cabin steward - never happened to us in 45 cruises but if it did we would be straight to reception to complain

what has people having accidents to do with the ship? Were they old and infirm or under the influence?

never noticed an abundance of frozen vegetables on my four previous cruises on the Discoveries (which are identical ships)

Wow harsh comment as you seem to have only cruised with Marella /Thomson I fail to understand how you can compare as someone who has done several different lines i can assure you that a help yourself towel station on the pool deck is usually the norm  had I known i would have taken my own towels there were many other issues including sun beds as soon as you put the back up the bolts fell out ,unhelpful miserable staff , the smell of sewage on deck 8 and the constant use of industrial air blowers to dry the carpets deck 8  ,Maitre D in the main restaurant being escorted out after aggressively arguing with customers I did say I got what i payed for a cheap AI sun holiday but I would not use this boat again I would try another as seasoned Marella cruisers  and a staff member told us were much better .This is just my experience and thoughts I am sorry you don't agree but I stand by my thoughts of my experience on board

I have sailed also wth P & O Ocean Village 1 & 2 and you could change towels on the pool deck if they were sopping wet but not the norm

None of the above was mentioned when Brian1 asked what the problems were and if you had then I would have sympathised

Faulty sunbeds not good and dangerous

Unfortunately floods in cabins occur on all cruise lines but are unpleasant if you are in the near vicinity

Never had unhelpful miserable staff with the exception of some Eastern Europeans on Majesty

The Filipinos are usually very helpful smiley hardworking and polite

I hope the Maitre D was sacked if this occurred due to his own anger and not if due to aggressive behaviour from the passengers - they usually are in full control of themselves and diners

I will elaborate, that the towels on D2 were a disgrace, threadbare and holey.Being our 1st Marella cruise we thought it the norm.Since then we realise it was the useless steward, after our 2nd cruise on E1.LOL,I can't believe the MD starting a punchup,I've heard it all now.
