Jimbo Posted October 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Only 1 ship in port on a Friday. August 7th. Seems like it would work?
Rare martincath Posted October 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) You'd have to try extremely hard to miss it - every cruiseline will book you on that, even on 3 ship days. You could literally WALK to the airport in time! On a 1 ship day I'd have zero hesitation saying 'go for it' even if it got bumped forward by an hour - and if you can handle self-disembarking and using transit, you could go for a 10:30am flight with virtually no risk... Jimbo Posted October 13, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Thanks, it's would be a non-stop flight, that is why we are thinking of going that way rather then a connecting flight that leaves at 2pm.
CruiserBruce Posted October 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Vancouver is not in Alaska. But on the West Coast Departures board, where Vancouver is commonly discussed, you will see 12:30 is quite doable. As mentioned, you will almost have to work to miss the flight. Jimbo Posted October 13, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted October 13, 2019 Wasn't sure if there were more security factors slowing down the process since we are US Citizens.

As discussed frequently on the West Coast board, Vancouver is a "pre-clearance " airport, which means you will complete the US Immigration and Customs requirements there, instead of at your first touch of US soil. That will make your flight, if it goes direct to a US airport, a domestic flight. Having Global Entry will speed the process. But you can still comfortably make a 12:30 flight. If you are flying from Vancouver to another Canadian airport before connecting to a US airport, you may do your Immigration business at that airport, or at the US airport, depending on if the connecting airport is a pre-clearance site.
