Christmas Day on Royal?

Hi, we're thinking of taking a 5 day cruise to Key West/Nassau over Christmas. 

 

What can we expect on Christmas Day as far as food and activities?

Turkey will be on the menu.

 

Santa will visit.

 

The sun will probably shine and you can revel in the warmth.

 

If you are in port, everything, or close to it, may be closed.

We did this cruise.  Nassau is a ghost town on the 25th.

Christmas carols were sung by staff and guests on Christmas Eve round the Christmas tree on the promenade.

We were in Curacao last Christmas on Freedom.  The Renaisance shopping mall and casino were open and bustling. The rest of Willemstad was quiet and closed for the holiday.  On board Santa was available for photos with hot chocolate. Christmas mass in the theatre.  Christmas dinner was extravagant. Turkey, ham. beef wellington in addition to regular menu items of cod, pappardelle, lamb shank, chicken breast and NY strip. Along  with the normal starters of Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail and escargots, there was fries brie and butternut squash soup.  Special deserts included French yule log and warmed spice cake.

Why when I read this I pictured the waiters singing in A Christmas Story
