The Mikado Posted November 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2019 Any comments or experiences? Covered balcony on the Dolphin deck? Thank you.
crystalspin Posted November 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2019 Here is a review of a cruise in that cabin right here on CC. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=649098 There are seven photos of that very cabin on cruisedeckplans, but not of the balcony. I've never regretted my lifetime membership!

Mini suite. 9 ft. x 9 ft. balcony, not covered. All port and starboard dolphin deck balconies are uncovered. Only mini suites with covered balconies are the 12 all the way aft on emerald deck.
Colo Cruiser Posted November 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2019 As mentioned it’s a standard uncovered mini.
Rusty10 Posted November 13, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2019 I’ve usually stay midship on the dolphin deck due to motion sickness. It is uncovered and I don’t mind that all the floors above can see me below. But after my last cruise, it will probably be my last. I had the misfortune of having some one above that kept dropping their food on my balcony. Now that I thought thinking about it what’s to prevent someone from throwing up over their balcony and having that mess land on me?
The Mikado Posted November 13, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted November 13, 2019 Thank you, everyone, for your answers. Curious: Do most cruisers like covered or uncovered better? There are obvious advantages to each; what's the consensus?
crystalspin Posted November 13, 2019 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2019 I think (not a formal survey!) that cruisers like covered better. Or half covered for the best of worlds. People don't like the feeling of being exposed, to observation from above, they get from uncovered. Nor the real (if slight) possibility of someone dropping things on them! Also covered have some shelter from rain, what doesn't blow in.
