luv2travel06 Posted November 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2019 We are scheduled to be in Trinidad on the Caribbean Princess on 02/24, the Monday of Carnival. We were excited about it until we started reading all the posts here about crime. If you have been in Trinidad for Carnival, we would be interested in any information you would care to share. goneclear Posted January 28, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Unfortunately Carnival Monday Morning is Jouvert. A Mud and body paint Carnival that starts at 2am. BY the time your ship docks it will look like an ugly mass of drunk muddy humans gyrating on one another. By Midday the scene changes and the dressy costumes come out a little. Carnival Tuesday is the when the real beautiful costumes come out. I would advise you to stay on the ship untill noon then you can walk around Town and see some of the costumes. Trinidad Carnival is not like rio. It is more built around people participating.
