marchanxiety Posted December 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2019 We are arriving at the port of Miami on the Regent Explorer on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020. I think we are in one of the smaller terminals. Will it be difficult to get cabs or ubers to the airport (MIA)? We are not catching a flight, but picking up a rental car to drive to Orlando for a family party. We will not be in a big hurry. Thanks for any advice. Rare FlyerTalker Posted December 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Depending on your rental car company, you can take their shuttle from the port to the MIA rental car center. You will need to show them proof of your booking. Otherwise, the cab/Uber/Lyft situation will be very dependent on the number of ships in the port. On a Saturday, it will be jammed - but that can also mean that lots of cabs and drivers will be trying to take advantage of the demand. Traffic within the port will be busy, as there is construction impacting roads.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2019 That day will be busy with 8 ships in port. But no worries. However, since you are not in a rush it's really no big deal to get a taxi or Uber. There are tons of taxis which queue outside the port and they let in a certain number at a time and there are quite a few Uber options. Hopefully you will be in terminal J which will be quieter but again no worries getting a vehicle to pick you up. Flat fee taxi to the Miami International Airport but I prefer Uber. And as FlyerTalker mentioned you might have the shuttle option depending on who you are renting the car with. Keith
