Park and cruise hotel needed - Miami, FL, Hollywood?

In mid February,  We need a hotel that will allow us to leave our car while we are on a 7 day cruise.  We will be staying at that hotel for 3 nights prior to departure from the POM.  We have no problem staying as far away as FL, then getting an uber or SAS to the POM.

We hate paying a lot for a hotel room (or a ship cabin - we typically book inside or OV).  Any decent somewhat inexpensive suggestions please?

Most of the hotels offering cruise parking will be out near the MIA airport - Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites in the Blue Lagoon area are often suggested, as is the MIA Embassy Suites.  A budget option near MIA is the La Quinta East.  None of these includes a ride from the port back to your car so plan on about $20+ for an Uber/Lyft after the cruise.  If you find a good deal on a hotel in Fort Lauderdale you are only a $35+ Uber/Lyft from POM.

Or stay cheaper outside of Miami (West Palm? Even Orlando) and then drive to Miami the morning of your cruise and park at the port.

Thanks for the helpful replies.  After giving this more thought, we decided that since we were 'stuck' for 3 nights we might as well enjoy them.  I prefer FLL over MIA, so I found a small, cute hotel near the beach in the Las Olas area, Villa Venezia.  Looks like our kind of place.

Then we'll drive to Miami and park, either at the POM or a secure off site location.

Read all the threads about off site parking in Miami before deciding to do that instead of parking at the port!

Be sure to let us know if you find one -- most of the reports from off site parking in Miami are dismal.  Parking at POM costs $22/day, but is covered, convenient and secure.

As noted aborve, parking at POM is expensive but is covered, convenient and secure.  Parking anywhere else in Miami will likely not be covered, will be much less convenient and for sure will be less secure.  It's your car - do you feel lucky? :classic_huh:
