Flights to MIA and FLL - $$$

For our itinerary it was significantly cheaper to fly into and out of Fort Myers (RSW) and renting a car for the two hour drive across the state.

 

I understand that you have some pretty specific time limitations with your itinerary, but it might be worth a look. Good luck.

Don’t know if this is an option where you live,  but I’ll throw it at you anyway. If you are someone who either prefers or needs a first class seat domestically, but don’t want to spend the money normally charged by major airlines for one, Spirit offers “Big Front Seats” which are nothing more than a domestic first class seat, but without the first class service or the accompanying high price. Sometimes you pay as little as $25 over the cost of a regular seat to secure one of these big seats. It’s a great deal when traveling in the USA, where domestic first class isn’t nearly as good as international first class. 

 

My parents who are in their 80’s always get the Big Front Seats when they fly Spirit.

American Air is a major player in Miami International Airport. That company now expects (hopes?) 737MAX service to begin April 7, the most recent adjustment of expectations.

Southwest Air, another 737MAX operator, is a major player at Fort Lauderdale.  It's likely the absence of aircraft will continue to pressure both airports

What is the point?  That you fly first class?
