meggymay Posted December 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2019 I've just spent almost three hours on the phone with Carnival and my bank. I'm trying to book a replacement cruise since my Mardi Gras one was cancelled, but Carnival won't take my money! I've used two different cards to try and pay the deposit multiple times but every time the zip code comes back as invalid. I've used these cards for years and even recently booked an NCL cruise with it, no problem. I called my bank just to make sure and they said everything was fine, the zip code i'm giving is the one the the cards are associated with. Finally, I ask if there's another way to pay, and they tell me online with PayPal. So I go to manage my cruise on the website and there is nowhere to pay just my deposit, only the monthly payments or pay off the balance. I'm assuming that you can only pay your deposit with PayPal if you book online? The Customer service rep (5th one I spoke with) really couldn't answer that. She said maybe because it's a Mardi Gras rebooking (different ship though) they may be doing something behind the scenes that's affecting my payment. (????) I think she was just telling me that to get me off the phone, because she had no real answers. Sorry for the rant. Has anyone ever had an issue like this before? RTR 21-0 Posted December 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2019 We haven’t booked our new one yet but when we spoke with carnival rep yesterday we were told to book new cruise like we normally would then call them to apply the 25% & OBC. I’m wondering if their systems are overloaded from rebooking & the specials they’re running? Fingers crossed you get the kinks worked out & keep us updated. Nope, it went so smooth, rebooked the Mardi Gras, for Feb 2021 and they applied the 25% discount, transferred the amount I had already paid to new booking and sent me a confirmation showing all the details plus the $100 per person OBC and $50 in fun play because we used a casino rate, save over $600 on new booking. We are happy campers!!!
tlreze Posted December 24, 2019 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2019 I rebooked and it took a few minutes. There was no need to give a credit card, they just moved my deposit over to the new sailing, added my 25% as discount and then gave me $200 OBC. Very smooth
RTR 21-0 Posted December 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 24, 2019 Rebooked last night, called today and all credits including 25% applied. Same as previous poster, no need to give cc info and all went smoothly.

Wife called our PVP today and it was all taken care of. All FCC was switched to a B2B on the Horizon. Took about 15 minutes to do.
meggymay Posted December 24, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted December 24, 2019 Hmmmm..... seems like i'm the only one having issues. I just have no idea why they keep telling me it's the wrong zip code when I try to use my cards : / I just used one of the ones I tried to give them over the phone to get gas today, the machine asked for a zip code and it accepted it no problem. MemphisFan Posted December 27, 2019 #12 Share Posted December 27, 2019 we had some issues too. We had 2 rooms booked originally. After being on the phone forever, and having tons of problems, they finally got it done and moved our deposits over. Except 1 room has the OBC applied, yet the other doesn't (my room, which is 4 of us). Still waiting for them to correct it and add the $400 OBC. Not happy with the date changes, but in the end, we moved to a date where the rate was lower than the original cruise, plus getting the extra 25% discount on top, and all gratuities being paid for (the OBC)

Tonight my wife found the correct statements, where I don’t know because the incorrect one are still in the cruise documents. Oh well, back on the telephone with Carnival to remove the incorrect ones and replace it with the correct ones. At least they got the OBC correct on both. MaryZ Posted December 28, 2019 #14 Share Posted December 28, 2019 No issues at all. They transferred our deposit, added our FCC and gave us the $100 each onboard credit on a cruise we had booked already. If anything at all, this was the easiest process I've ever had with any cruise line. Sad our 15 night cruise was cancelled and the Mardi Gras does not have any sailings like it. So we will wait til maybe it does and then we will book on that ship.
