francisbacon Posted December 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2019 We just got approved to disembark in Nassau. It was a process to get routed to the right team at RCCL since RCI agents got confused when we were transferred over to them from the Celebrity office. I like to sleep in so would like to disembark late in the afternoon instead of at 8 AM. For those of you who have done it before, what was the process like and how much flexibility do we have around when we want to get off the ship? Rare Jim_Iain Posted December 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2019 I have disembarked early on two cruises - once in Buenos Aires and once in Tokyo. In my situation, both were the first night of an overnight at the end of the cruise. Celebrity was very helpful and all I needed to do was notify them of the time we wished to depart and they made sure that Customs would be available. When it came time to disembark our butler brought a cart to our room and escorted us to the terminal. On one trip we disembarked around 4 in the afternoon and the other was just after lunch. Good to know. Did you have to hand over your passport to them at check-in? And I'm guessing you were scheduling disembarkation at check-in as well? Rare Jim_Iain Posted December 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) After approval shore-side, I confirmed once on board and scheduled departure about 24 hours prior to leaving the ship. On both cruises we had to surrendered our Passports to Celebrity and received them back the night before disembarking. To Clarify, on the two cruises were we disembarked on the first night of an overnight at the last port we did not have to apply and pay the fee to disembark early. About 4-5 days prior to the end of cruise when they send you the questionnaire about leaving the ship one of the option was that you were departing on the first day. I did a downline disembarkation in India for 3 days to visit the Taj Majal. On this trip we had to apply to leave the ship and had to pay I believe $60 to process the request. On the cruise we had turned our passports over to Celebrity at the beginning of the cruise and they delivered it back to our room the night before we left the ship. On leaving the ship we had to give them our SeaPass. Upon re-boarding we again surrendered our passport to Celebrity and got our Sea Pass back Edited December 28, 2019 by Jim_Iain
Rare 1025cruise Posted December 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2019 Once onboard, guest services will advise you when you need to get off. Since you will need to meet with immigration officials, you might not have much choice in the matter.
