Armonk27 Posted January 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2020 Does anyone know if the Sky Princess has any craft beers, or any IPA beer? Last year the Caribbean Princess had one "craft" beer by Lagunitas. I am hoping Princess has improved the beer choices, since they have dozens of special hard liquor drinks. Thank you. CruiseVA Posted January 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2020 We were on her on the 12/4/19 run, they had Ballast Point Sculpin (can't remember if it was the grapefruit or not). It was NOT on the Menu, and wasn't on display at all the bars. Just ask them for it. The Lagunitas "IPA" that they actually had was the Little Sumpin Sumpin, NOT the IPA. This may have changed, but, I think the fleet beer "master" doesn't know what they are doing! Oh, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, close enuf in a pinch... Rare Hlitner Posted January 6, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2020 We were recently on the Emerald Princess and were surprised to see they had Lagunitas. Previously we had not seen any IPA's on Princess. On our previous cruises, Celebrity had the best selection of IPAs (including Dogfish Head 90) and craft beers. Princess has been slow to catch-up with the beer drinking world. Hank
CruiseVA Posted January 6, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2020 A few years ago they contracted with a small brewery in CA, they had a few different brews, including an IPA, not the best IPA, but much better than a Bud Lite!

It was branded as Seawitch Beer and was more "crap" beer than "craft" beer. It failed miserably and they discontinued it some time back.
CruiseVA Posted January 7, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Indeed it was, but, still, better than the bud/corona/miller/coors crap.

Yes, that was the name of the only "craft" beer. Not all of the bars carried it, either. I do wish the liquor buyers would have a few choices for customers who like IPA beer. CruiseVA Posted January 7, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 7, 2020 I've hounded Princess for years about this, suggesting that we should be able to replace a bottle of wine with a 6-pack of beer. Heck, Carnival has a brewery on board some of their ships... Still compared to some cruise lines, they at least have something to pick from.
