Rare Peachypooh Posted January 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2020 Puerto Rico just can't catch a break. With the two earthquakes and island wide power outage just wondering if the Encore is going to make it's scheduled stop in San Juan. Most of the damage I believe was on the other side of the island from San Juan but power outages and road damage might be an issue. Just there a couple of weeks ago and they were on their way to recovery from the hurricane. What a shame and feel sorry for those who lost a loved one. Rare dshefter Posted January 7, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2020 A nighttime stop versus a daytime visit can't do wonders for local business. Most people won't even get off the ship. Dumb move by NCL to not have a daytime stop for PR

We have a lovely walk through the old city and a great dinner. The old city walls are beautiful at night. At night, it was humid in the high 80’s,,, probably would do a lot less during the heat of the day.

Rare mking8288 Posted January 8, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) Latest, more than 1/4 million residents without running water, power outages, San Juan airport ops affected with delays. Port area looked fine but on closer exam, power outage appeared to affect the north side too, including the Fort area up the hillside. Waterfront illuminated with some of the buildings running on generator power ?? Street lights out ? Edited January 8, 2020 by mking8288
