Nieuw Statendam category V bump out stateroom

Just booked a bump out room on deck 7. Anyone have information on those rooms? Pictures? I can’t find any, but it is supposed to be a bigger room and balcony.

We booked V7131. Looks like the room is bigger. How do I find pictures of that room, please.

Don't know about your cabin, but we booked V8125 for our April TA. Supposedly we have a bigger balcony (deeper) but I think the cabin is the same size as a standard balcony cabin. The NS being a new(er) ship, I don't think there are all that many photos of specific cabins yet. Halfacts.com is your best bet, but they don't show your cabin or ours.

We were in V7131 on Nieuw Statendam to Norway in June 2019. Very comfortable cabin with a bit extra space both in the room and on the balcony. It's the same width as a standard cabin, with about a 9-foot triangular extension at the verandah-end of the room. The verandah itself is about the same depth as standard, but longer in width, since it forms the “hypotenuse” of the triangle. Both the desk and loveseat are against the long wall. I was able to use the space for floor exercises. Happy to answer any questions,

Where is the table that is usually in front of

 couch so if you dine in they place the food on the table .

We tucked the table off to the side (you can see it in the last photo to the left of the desk) since we didn’t need it.

So that little table is the coffee table?

So if dining in room does it work? We enjoy ordering from PG and MDR on occasion. 
Relaxing on couch watching TV with feet up on table doesn’t work .

Hard to see in my photo, but it's the standard NS coffee table, same as the one in the Halfacts link shown in post #2 of this thread. Might be a bit tight to hold a dinner service for two, but we didn't attempt it. You’d probably need to make use of some of the desktop to hold everything. You could certainly use it as a footrest for watching tv, maybe just for one person, though.

Can you watch the TV from the couch? The way it's placed in front of the bed, instead of the couch, makes it look uncomfortable.

I haven't been on this ship, but the table looks to be the same size as all the other ships I have been on.

When dinner is brought to the room, it is on a large tray and when it is placed on that little table it creates a suitable tabletop for two. It is not spacious, but it works. We usually put some of the items from the tray on the nearby desk. and the plate covers are usually stacked on the floor.

Certainly more casual than the dining room.

we have been on 12 HAL cruises and 

from her small ships which we love to Nieuw Amsterdam, Eurodam and others they had a very nice circle or oval coffee table. I just noticed how small the table was. We enjoy and know room service and when in Neptune Suites it is really nice to dine. Appreciate your response and happy sailings!

Thanks so much for posting these pics! We have that room booked for our cruise in the next few weeks. The rep at Holland said the bathroom might be a bit larger. Did you notice by chance?

The TV was viewable from the couch but I agree, the angle was not ideal.

Thanks for the reply. 
I can't for the life of me understand why HAL made it impossible for people to watch TV in their cabins. If they want us out spending money instead, they shouldn't have installed TVs at all.

I can't say for sure, but I believe the bathroom was standard size for that ship. Very roomy walk-in shower, but I think the same as all the standard showers on the NS. Enjoy your cruise!

We are in 7134 on Koningsdam in another month. Appears to be the same design which is why I booked it. Booked the same cabin last year but took a $600 upgrade to a Signature Suite about 3 weeks out.

Are the walls metal? Could we use magnets on the extra wall space for hanging things? We always need extra hangers for jackets and hats.

Yes metal walls. I’ll attempt to post a photo. Have no idea why it’s upside down but you get the idea!!
