Canceled excursions

If cancelled prior to departure, then it is immediately credited to the original form of payment (including gift cards).

If cancelled after departure (by Carnival/tour operator), then it gets credited to your onboard account as refundable on board credit.

If you cancel after departure, there are penalties, but if there is a refund available (not sure if there is or not), then it would be refundable on board credit.

If you tossed out the gift card because it had zero balance, anyone know how you use the credit they give you if an excursion is cancelled?

If the excursion is cancelled prior to sailing, you will be sent a new gift card with the refund.  If it is cancelled after sailing, it will be refunded to your S&S account.
