Miami hotel on the beach

What would be a good hotel to stay in after a cruise for around 200 dollars a night in mid May on the beach?

You will need to look in Miami Beach, not Miami, if you want a hotel in the beach.

 

I had friends who recently stayed at The National hotel on Collins Ave. and were very happy - no idea if it is in your price range.

I can second the recommendation for the The National; our son's wedding was held there.  I will warn you that the rooms in most of the hotel (built in 1939) are small by today's standards if you have more than two people.  The more recent cabana rooms and suites are much larger.

Small rooms are typical for many of the boutique hotels in South Beach.
