Use OBC before departure?

I haven’t sailed with Princess in quite a few years, and have lots of onboard credit for an upcoming (summer) cruise. Can I use the OBC to book shore excursions now (similar to Celebrity), or must I wait to use them once I’m on the ship?

I used OBC to book shore excursions for our upcoming cruise in March.

Yes. If the OBC shows under the payment section of your cruise personlizer it can be applied to pre-booked excursions. Note that if you have excess OBC under one passenger and not enough under the other to cover the excursion(s) you have to call Princess to request booking of the excursion(s).

Thank you! I have been trying to call Princess to ask, but their phone lines have been busy. I always know someone on CC will have the answer!

Please note that, as skynight has posted, if the OBC shows in your personalizer you can use it to pre-book excursions. This means any OBC received from Princess can be used in advance. Any OBC received from your TA won't show in the personalizer and can't be used until you are on the ship.
