Yet another Deluxe Drink Package question

First time on RC in 15 years and really only familiar with how NCL's drink package works.  Wife and I will be on the Mariner in 2 weeks and we are considering getting the Deluxe Drink package.  She found a flyer from RC's web site which indicated that drinks up to $12 are covered by the package.  She also found photos of a drink menu from December that someone who sailed on the Mariner had posted and prices for many drinks including items like an Absolute Mule were listed at $13.

 

Would those drinks not be eligible for the Deluxe package?  If not, can you pay the $1 difference and still get one?

Yes, you can order drinks that cost more than the limit and pay the difference ($1 in your example).

Those $13 drinks are covered 100% by the package.

you can buy it at whatever price seems good to you and, if it goes down just cancel and rebook.  no penalty... Must be done no later than 72 hours prior to the cruise

great way to try drinks by only paying the difference  I usually do a few times.

We really like there drink package, we normally drink wine that is just a couple of dollars above limit, si we have lots of two dollars charges on our bill. So if you have a 12 dollar limit and order a 14 dollar drink you pay 2 dollars plus tip so 2.36

So I like a Midori colada occasionally but have the freshment package can I pay for that to be upgraded as 1 drink request or  do I have to buy a whole new drink

The refreshment package does not cover a portion of alcoholic drinks.  You will have to pay the full drink price.

What is a Midori colada?  I like both midori and colada and would be interested in this.

If it is simply pina colada mix plus some midori, you can order the virgin pina colada with your refreshment package, then pay for a shot of midori.  The shot will not be cheap.  🙂
