As an avatar that appears under your user name on each post? (You have a P there now.)

As the Cover Photo on your profile?

On a post in a thread?

In an album?

Do you mean instead of the generic "P" on the left?

 

Click on your username in the upper right.  Click on "Profile" on the pull down menu.

 

On the upper left of the next page, you'll see the current avatar you have (Big "P") and a little window in the lower left.  Click on the little window (Profile Picture).  Follow directions there.

I have a MacBookPro, there is no pull down menu, no Big P or a window in the lower left. HELP... Sandi

Do you see your user name in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell and envelope? It is above the Search bubble with the little black magnifying glass.
