voltage converter

For land or ship? The ship (assuming a Holland America ship) will have US voltage and plugs (along with European plugs and voltage) just like if you were sailing out of Ft Lauderdale.

For land, you need, at minimum, an adapter to go from European plugs to US plugs. Then it depends on  what electronic items you have. Many things are "multi-voltage"...you can tell by looking at the plugs, the item, or the owner's manual, where it will typically say "210/115v" or similar. In our case, for example, only our electric toothbrush is not muli voltage, so we carry a 220 to 115v transformer for the toothbrush.

USB plugs are also very common, and you don't have to do anything special if you use a USB plug to charge.

Most all electronic devices are universal voltage, meaning anywhere from 100 volts to 240 volts.  The exceptions are usually devices with heating elements and motors.   Some hair dryers have a switch for 120 or 220 volts.   All CPAP machines are universal voltage.  All cell phone and tablet chargers will work with any voltage.   One post mentioned an electric toothbrush, because of the small motor inside.

But even with a multi-voltage device, you will still need a US flat blade to European round prong plug adapter.  They are available everywhere for under $5.

The electric outlets in bathrooms on ships have a switch for 120 or 220 volts.  But do NOT plug a hair dryer in there.  Those outlets are only rated for a few watts for shavers and tooth brushes.
