Faye G Posted February 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2020 I wondered if drinks packages are the same price regardless of the number of nights on the cruise - sounds like a silly question maybe but our cruise is 25 days so works out quite a lot as opposed to a 7 or 14 day cruise so wondered if they reduce them slightly when over a certain number of days? I'm only asking as I've seen different prices mentioned by different people. I'm yet to see my booking on the MSC website as only just booked it today so the packages etc cannot be seen just yet. Thank you for any help.
Até Posted February 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2020 When purchasing separately MSC used to price the drinks packages lower per day for longer sailings, no more. Currently the best deal on drinks packages on UK bookings is the promotional rate of Premium package included in Fantastica or above cabin bookings. You can check to see if your sailing is one of the ones it's offered on: https://www.msccruises.co.uk/cruise-deals/fantastica-premium-drinks-package
Faye G Posted February 13, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted February 13, 2020 Hi Ate' I've already booked and the drinks are not included but I have got a great deal for a 25 day cruise so over all I'm pretty happy. I'm not able to see the packages yet even though we go in 8 weeks (as I've only booked it in last 24 hours). Thank you for the links on my 2 questions - I appreciate your efforts to help me Regards Faye
Até Posted February 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) I can easily tell you the prices of the drinks packages in USD, most of the UK posters who can give closer conversion rates are sleeping now. Easy drinks package (beverages up to €6) is $35 per person per day, Premium (beverages up to €10) is $47pp/day and Premium Plus (any beverage by the glass) is $65pp/day. ETA: Non alcoholic is $23pp/day. Edited February 13, 2020 by Até

Especially if you are used to alcohol packages on other cruiselines.
rool Posted February 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2020 I have just paid £51 per day for Prem + on a 16 night repo from Santos to Barcelona. That seems a bit higher than most of the quoted prices I have seen but I wonder if they take the 9 sea days into consideration when consumption will probably be much higher. Only any good now if you are ok with one beer choice, a couple of house wines, a handful of cocktails and non premium spirits for the duration of your cruise. Obviously it suits some and sometimes budget dictates your choices but I got bored very quickly of Heineken and the two house reds on my last cruise. That said I would personally still go for Easy over pay as you go as I know I would exceed the 5 or so drinks a day that covers it.
heatherb1958 Posted February 14, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2020 We just booked the Seaside transatlantic for March 2021 , Miami to Barcelona , 19 nights. I am not even tempted to book a drinks package as with all those sea days I know we would indulge too much. We did PAYG on the Grandiosa and survived , we didn’t even have the free bottled water and hot drinks at dinner on that sailing , we do have it on Seaside , that is one of the things I do appreciate on a package plus the coffees. At the end of the day I find if you are travelling with friends , a large group etc. having a package does help with the socialising as there is no “ oh this is my round “ etc. I am still struggling to lose the extra few pounds I put on at Christmas due to the drink package we had on that cruise !! 😱.
