Island wannabe Posted February 15, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Thinking of doing our first Mexican Riviera cruise out of Long Beach April 2021. I’ve read a lot that the weather can be chilly n the water until reaching Mexico but would that still be generally true in April ? Apologies if this is being asked on the wrong board. Are you asking about weather...or water temperature? Water temperature on the West Coast is typically cooler...because the current on the West Coast of North America circulates down from Alaska--hence cooler water than one would expect for the latitude...the water does warm up a bit as you get further south to the Mexican Riviera ports... Weather is a different subject...April weather in SoCal can vary a bit...sometimes it can be cool--but always warmer than the rest of the country. Rainy season, the little of it that there is here, is usually over by April...skies are typically blue and ican be fairly warm as well. When you get down to the Mexican ports, it could be quite warm. We just did a Mexican Riviera cruise on January 3-11 and the highs in all three Mexican ports were in the 80s...
