kessdarln Posted March 5, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2020 Hi! When bidding for an upgrade, I notice the amount doubles (for double occupancy). If I win, would I be charged for 2 or only 1? I'd like to bid higher for 1 person, but not pay double that for double occupancy. Thanks!
Zippeedee Posted March 5, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2020 You are charged for two. Bid accordingly.
Rare All-ready2cruise Posted March 5, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2020 You will be charged for 2 when bidding, and it will show double the amount bid.
joyfullmommie2017 Posted March 5, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2020 You will be charged double what you bid. It is always for 2 whether you have 1 person in the cabin or
Rare JamieLogical Posted March 5, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) Bidding is ALWAYS double occupancy, no matter how many you have in your cabin. One person? Double occupancy. Four people? Double occupancy. It's the #1 question in the FAQ: 1. Is the offer amount per person per day or for the entire duration of the cruise? The offer amount is per person for the entire duration of the cruise. Offers are based on two occupants per stateroom - only the first and second guest will be charged. 7. How much do I pay if my reservation includes more than 2 guests? If your reservation includes multiple passengers (between 2 and 9 passengers), the offer amount submitted will be per passenger but only for the first and second passenger on the reservation. 11. What happens if I am a single guest? You will be charged based on double occupancy. Edited March 5, 2020 by JamieLogical
Nola26 Posted March 5, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) I won a bid on the Dawn as a solo cruiser. I bid the lowest amount $50 so I paid $100 to go from inside to balcony cabin. That was the most I was willing to spend for a different cabin. Set your value, bid and see what hapoens. If 2X minimum is above your value don't bid and enjoy your Inside cabin. You are charged for two and if you are in a studio you are not eligible.

I was in an inside and only had to pay for one passenger. The bid process required that I pay 2X which I did. The OP may not be in a studio and either already paid a solo supplement or has a promotion where it was waived.
