Cardiolite Posted March 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2020 Here is the article on cbc https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-covid-19-1.5496367 Its buried a bit in there but this is a quote of the section... During that news conference, ministers announced a series of new measures to limit the spread of COVID-19: International flights will only be permitted to land at a smaller number of airports. Those locations have not yet been announced. A ban on boats and cruise ships carrying more than 500 people from docking at Canadian ports until July. A recommendation that all travellers arriving in Canada from international points self-isolate for 14 days.

Was looking forward to greeting Oasis when she arrives at Portland in June. It would have been quite a sight. Guess that's not happening now. Only the Canadian ports are closing - the US ones could still be open though without a foreign port required for the itinerary (though I suppose they could do a drive by to satisfy the rules), not sure that sailing can happen. There's no point sailing by Canada if they're not going to stop, and there's nowhere else for Oasis to go up here unless she can squeeze into Boston. coaster Posted March 13, 2020 #10 Share Posted March 13, 2020 (edited) Guess my first cruise not out of Florida is out. Booked on a 11 nighter to NE and Canada for June on Empress. Was not expecting it to happen anyway. This makes it a definite no go. https://www.citynews1130.com/2020/03/13/feds-announce-flight-restrictions-cruise-ship-ban-amid-covid-19-outbreak/ Edited March 13, 2020 by coaster

Will make traveling home an experience.
