Does that include you?

Avril

Yes but won't affect us as the main difference is you can't socialise with anyone outside your bubble.

Pubs close at 10pm and table service only.

We have had several texts from health services warning this might happen.

Doesn't surprise my elder daughter either, who lives in Newcastle. Gather from her they've imposed the same restrictions on the whole of Northumberland, which seems to have few cases.

My niece is a keyworker in Newcastle and said even at lunchtime the pubs were packed with no social distancing.

We took her for a meal last night in our favourite restaurant in Newcastle and it was a very safe covid19 environment.

I once had a bad day .First no toilet roll, then the toilet wouldn't flush ,:classic_unsure:

I also got  banned from going back into the B&Q store.:classic_mellow:

I've been banned from the DiY store.

Sent to me by a family of 6.

Hopefully everyone finds it funny.

Yes still subscribe and like you, we highlight our viewing for the week.  All recorded so we can watch when convenient.  We have had a Netflix subscription though (a welcome Christmas gift) and wouldn't have imagined how much we value it or how many really good series we've enjoyed.  Of course because of the restrictions this year, we've watched far more than usual.

We got Netflix last November and it has been invaluable. I list all the things that we’d like to watch. I don’t think we’ll ever get to the end of the list, but there’s always something to watch

We also record from the TV on the TiVo box.

There are a lot of people missing. It worries me that some of the well known names on here have simply vanished. There are people I have spoken tor many years.

Some may simply not choose to contribute while there are no cruises. Others just fade away.

To anyone who is reading and not posting, please let us know you are still well 😀

I echo your sentiments and also hope some missing regulars post and let us know they are well.

I don't know how we'd manage without Netflix either. We only watch 2 or 3 hours a night, andwithout Netflix we'd be reduced to just shouting at the couples  on "Place in the Sun" with their small budgets and stupid aspirations.

You forgot to mention the (just as annoying) "cheeky offers" due to the often spurious reason "the property needs some work on it."

And the annoying terminology used - "outside space" instead of garden is top of my list. Followed by "lovely space", aka nice room.

It seems like you've been here for ever, Avril (that is a compliment, by the way).

Just wish Selbourne would reappear - I miss his fascinating posts.

I affect a lot of people like that Annie. " Not you again!"🤣🤣  Only joking.

I miss Selbourne too. I wish he'd post, even if it's just a 👍

Bobupandown (Bob and Elaine) haven't posted for quite a while either. We used to chat a lot. It can get  a bit  worrying.

We have all kept the threads very active recently which is great.

Never heard from daib for quite some time.

I read every post and miss Selbournes contributions too.

I post on my mobile phone only and it is always in my pocket even when I was in cardiac care so if I don't post??? Pauline has confiscated my phone.🤫🤣

Ah, now I understand. It's because you reply twice to each post🤣🤣

I think it may be because it's become a very busy enclave of (mainly) the retired (albeit we're all very young and early retired😉)and we've all got unexpected time on our hands - the number of posts to catch up on must be very daunting if you've been at work all day, have to come home and cook dinner etc?

You can get the same laughs out of our own British version. Or rather you could, were not the situation, the chaos, and the damage so serious.

Harry, what is our version of CNN? I'm in serious need of a little light relief.

Sorry Annie.  Not our version of CNN, but our version of Trumpington.

Damn! I draw the line at watching any of our current government (apart from Raab, who has a certain je ne sais quoi).

Don't worry, I've summoned the nurse myself.🤣

Back to Sky News.

To be fair, though, it’s like watching Spitting Image but without the puppets. Or the intelligence.

On a lighter note, people are referring to us a couple who have traded 1 “C” for another. Cruise to Caravan!

Talking of caravans, we’re off to North Wales again tomorrow for our 3rd caravan stay of the year (a perfect swap for the 3 cruises we should have taken 😃) so that I can visit my parents (have to take into consideration the different rules in place there) and make sure mum is ok after her scheduled eye operation tomorrow.

We're off to our caravan in North Wales tomorrow too - it is just heavenly there. Best decision we have made in a long time.

Still can't believe it is ours though yet!

Where are you off to?

Get that - I come on here and find that there are pages and pages of stuff. All good fun for the weekend 🙂

Will see you all more frequently in half term 🙂
