Rare Petroplex Posted April 5, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2020 Morning, folks. I have a technical question about how the future cruise credit (FCC) works. I booked with a travel agent, and my cruise leaves in slightly more than 90 days (mid-July). We are in a suite and have non-refundable deposits of $1000 ($250 * 4). I have reached the conclusion that this cruise is unlikely to sail as scheduled, and if that is true I would rather have my money sooner than later. Here is what I think the process is: I have to get my travel agent to answer the phone, and she has to be the one to cancel the cruise. If I cancel at least 90 days out, I get cash for everything but the $1000. I get a $1000 FCC which I can use through 31 December 2021. Do I understand all of that process correctly? Thanks! firefly333 Posted April 5, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) If you wait and its cancelled you get a 100% refund, no fcc. Personally I'd gamble your cruise will get cancelled for july, but I can see why you wouldnt want to pay it off. But yes, sounds right. I gave them full payment months ago, so they already have my money. If this isn't happening, I would rather have it back sooner rather than later. pcur Posted April 5, 2020 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2020 Non-refundable deposits usually come with a $100 per person change/cancellation fee if cancelled before 75 days before sailing.

NRDs for cruises cancelled that sail prior to September 1 will get the NRD converted into a FCC. Just did that yesterday for a July cruise. Royal is waiving the $100pp fee on all sailings under the cruise with confidence policy.
