From what I am being told from Carnival is if you book with offer OWV the free drink promotion in the casino is automatically qualified instead of having to earn enough points from gambling on the first day. Can anyone confirm this?

TIA!

OK, Thankx! Good to know I need to get the DOU (I'm assuming "Drink On Us" ) card on the first night. This is the first time getting a casino promotion! So I have to be actively playing in the casino before they will serve me a drink? How do they know?

No, you don't.  The DOU offer is connected to your folio number, no card needed

Yes, you need to be actively playing.   The drink servers don't care if you have the DOU or not, they just care if you tip.  Tips are not included.  You can tip on the receipt which will show 0.00 when you sign or you can tip in cash.

Every time i had a DOU or earned one by playing they always gave me a separate white card they attached to my lanyard. Yes it was only for me with a 15 drink limit per day but the waiter did not care if you got a drink for someone else. DW or older child

They may or may not issue a card but the card is not necessary for the drinks to be comped.  The card makes people feel better and allows them to show off.  The casino hosts think seeing the DOU cards dangling encourages those who aren't playing as much to play more to get one. The drink staff may or may not care if you order for someone else as long as you tip well.  The casino hosts do care if you are sharing on the DOU drinks.  They can remove the DOU.
