Séte to Montpellier

Recommended Posts

Our cruise ship will dock at Séte for 10 hrs. on May 19th. Séte seems to be a quiet port so two of us are thinking of going to Montpellier either by city bus or train for half-a-day tour there ourselves. I wonder how far are the bus/train stations away from the pier/city center there? And how frequents are the bus/train schedules on Friday?

thanks, we are there on a sunday (not sure how much to do/open on a Sunday) and we are docked from 7a.m. to 6p.m. --- I would go to Carcassone but we are going to Avignon the next day, medieval walled town of Lucca a few days after and some perched medieval villages in Provence/Marseille area (Les Baux, St. Paul de Vence, Eze) ---

Montpellier looks interesting, and I just read that Narbonne has an interesting Sunday covered market...

However, I could probably use the day of rest - using a few hours in Sete, have some fresh seafood and re-group for the next few days of intense touring.

Just all the surrounding options of Nimes, Montpellier etc. are calling to me!

Visit Sète with an audioguided tour

00087711.jpg You can rent at the Tourist Office six audioguided tours, available every day, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays included .

With this facility, you can discover Sète at your own pace...

Might be a relaxing option, between days of intense touring.
