Alaskan Port Fees / Taxes increase

Just curious if any of you did the L&S from this year to next and noticed that the port fees/taxes are almost double?

ours went from $224 per person to $436 per person.

Ours only went up by about $20 on the Ovation.  Ivee seen taxes go up but not by that much.

 

Did you book this years cruise through a TA or a different TA?  Some TA's like to include non comissionable cruise fare in their taxes line where Royal and some TA's include it in the cruise fare.

We booked with Royal direct. Ovation as well...went from sept 4th 2020 to sept 3 2021. Do you mind sharing what your taxes are?

Just did quick check price Ovation Sep 3 2021 and my Taxes would be $225.03

Actually I just repriced and it shows taxes / fees at 250...not sure where they $400 came from. Calling for the 3rd time.

We have had reports of RCI charging for both current sailing taxes and L&Sed sailing taxes - the call should fix that.

Currently on hold...again lol. At least I am work from home so it’s not so bad

1.5 hours later - FIXED - it does appear I was charged double taxes on both our L&S's
