Pullmantur Horizon No More?

While I think she's still just south of Eleusis at anchorage, Pullmantur is no longer an option for cruise lines on cruisemapper and Horizon is no longer displayed by default - she does show up if you search specifically for her, though there seems to be no update in the last two days.

Marine Traffic has her at anchor in the Bay of Elefsina.

not sure how accurate that list is for October? Is their any formal confirmation that Fascination or Horizon have been Sold for scrap? From anything Ive seen shows Horizon in cold lay up at Eleusis which if she was sold why would she not have gone right to Aliaga before now? Same with Fascination ?

It appears that the transponder has been turned off.  Normally, that is done when it is on the beach at the ship breaking yard or at anchor by the yard waiting for a space.

Wouldnt it be turned off in Cold Lay up status??

If you look at the pics during the beaching of Imagination, there's not much room there for any other ship - they may just be taking them in a certain order.

Both of those ships are listed for the second round in Turkey.

where do the lists for the 2nd round come from? And are they carved in stone , have they been sold to scrapyard already and are just hangin out wherever.Pretty sure No one will scrap ships anywhere but Aliaga as they are the only ones who meet the requirements now days.

The funny thing is that all those ships are pretty much the same inside. They pretty much differ only from the outside. Moreover, they fit approximately the same amount of people in it . In any case its good to know all of them.. at least you can compare them if you prefer to stick to one cruise line

That list came from the scrapyard.  One of the ships in the second round has already been beached and joined the four from the first round.  The other three are in cold layup and we are all waiting to see what happens.  Two of those ships have turned off their transponders.

Yeah The Carnival Fascination Im surprised she was in Cadiz not Eleusis with the other two and still had her transponder turned on. Now Fascination is at Cadiz Anchorage..!

The Marella Dream is now their too on other side of the ship beside Horizon. And their is some speculation that Horizon and Zenith could be used for a Pullmantur re start?? But will have to wait and see.

Zenith no longer belongs to Pullmantur and Horizon was probably sold for scrap at the same time as Sovereign and Monarch.  Why drag old tonnage back into business when RCI and Celebrity have more modern ships available for Pullmantur to lease?

'There are plenty more ships in the sea'.

Crunch time, however is coming to Pullmantur. Their website still says cruises are suspended only as far as 13th November and are still advertising cruises on ships currently sold and scrapped. Their public line, at least, will have to change.

Pullmantur are aware of the misinformation on their website but have refrained from doing anything about it.

The following two quotations are from Pullmantur head office earlier this year in response to my queries.

"We are working on a business plan to be able to resume our activity as soon as possible and we will inform you of how that return will be. We are here for any other questions."  - July 2020

"Hi Ken, our idea is to navigate as soon as the health situation allows. We will inform you. Greetings and take good care of you"  - September 2020
