Using FCC

I have searched, but have not been able to find exact instructions...

I was booked on Fascination fro January and was cancelled - elected FCC and $600 OBC.  Is the only way to use this FCC to call Carnival to book?  There is no way to use it online?  I know it doesn't show in my account on Carnival's website anywhere.

Thanks for any help!

When they cancelled my OCT 31st cruise, I selected this option online as the form stated.  My Travel Agent then got with Carnival to move the money over to my next booked cruise and apply the OBC, it took about 2 hours for them to do this.

You can book your new cruise online, if you are willing to pay another deposit.  You will then have to call Carnival to have your FCC applied to the new cruise.  Since it requires a phone call anyway, your best option is just to call to rebook and have your FCC applied right away.

We had a 7-day booked for July. Cancellation= $600 On board credit.  We then booked a 5-day.  It was cancelled and our OBC for our next, 7-day cruise is $300 based on previous cruise (which may not be booked).  So, we have lost $300 in OBC.  IDK. Makes me a little hesitant to book again.

I have easily dealt with 3 cancelled Carnival cruises by calling the casino promotions number (all of our Carnival cruises are through casino promotions). No phone wait times and the agents move everything over to new 2021 bookings and take care of the FCC and adding the OBC. You have to call Carnival to get it done.

I don't really see why this bothers you.  If you had read all of the documentation related the first cancellation, then you would have known that cruises up to and including 5 days only gets $300 OBC, and then you chose to book a shorter cruise when you rebooked.

Idk🤷🏼‍♀️  Just felt with loyalty it should have been the original offer. Not the$ just the principal. Hadn’t read every single line on it. It’s all good because we are opting to wait which is the better option for us. The 5-day Cruise was our “trial” to see how the new experience will be. Instead, we will see how it is for everyone and go on a cruise we really want, not a “trial.”

Carnival does not have it showing on your account page, if you have a cruise booked. It will show what you have on that cruise only. Princess shows everything. I wish Carnival did the same. No matter. The very best way is to have a TA. He or she can contact Carnival and get all the information for you. I am Diamond with Carnival and even the Diamond desk help will not have that information for you. Personally, I would NEVER book direct with any cruise line. Way to many advantages with a TA. That is if you are lucky to get a good one. No matter, they will do better than you can. Plus, sometimes they or the company they work for offer perks in addition to whatever the cruise line offers.

Someone is going to call Carnival, whether it is you or your T/A that depends on how you book.  To use the FCC, you must first book a new cruise and pay the deposit. This can be done online if you so choose.  Then the FCC is applied to your cruise but only after contacting Carnival and having the FCC applied to your new booking. If you use a T/A, they can do this for you.  In these days of technology, it seems somewhat archaic.

Speaking of talking with Carnival agents, while I received my refund quickly (I also chose the FCC), if you have an OBC based on a price drop filing, do the math on your refund and see if Carnival paid it.  I was on the phone with a Carnival agent yesterday and had to walk her through it.  She then had to get quality control involved and I will be receiving a second refund. Again, archaic systems.
