Where was I?

No, it’s yours.  Sampson has only been in that building mere decades.  My grandfather’s family created fine jewellery there, in that building in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, for many centuries.  We visited there in 2018.  The owners couldn’t believe the history I revealed, but of course, I just needed to buy a little memento, lol.

Your turn💛

No not fair, I cheated by looking it up on google.😆

Great story for you as well, to catch up with a piece of family history.

Truly, I am at fault here, because all I was thinking about was fellow posters identifying Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, without realising the name of the jewellery store was in full, obvious, revealing view.  Full marks for using your initiative and googling.  I think we all agreed some time back that it was acceptable to do that. Now, John and Hilary:  definitely your turn, or we’ll be debating all day😂

The public toilets

Yes public toilets for the wealthier citizens, who we were told like to socialise there.🤷‍♂️

Those slabs with the holes are solid marble, and the area can get very cold, so the masters would send their slaves down ahead of them, to sit and warm them up for them.😂

Your go.

out of curiosity when were you in Ephesus? 2014?

We did a Celebrity cruise on Silhouette in October 2013 that docked at Kusadasi and we took a taxi from the dock to Ephesus

It was a great place, we did it on our 2014 cruise, fascinated with the history and customs of the day.

Ps: sorry back to the "Emu"
