39august Posted October 4, 2020 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2020 I currently have a deeply discounted NRD amount of only $25 pp for a 2021 cruise that I would like to move to 2022. If I do this, will I have to pay the remainder of the usually required deposit?
wrk2cruise Posted October 4, 2020 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2020 You should not have to. I've changed sailings many times with reduced deposit from booking onboard. Only time I had to increase to full deposit was if I was moving to a group booking. Full deposit is always required for group booking prices. I don't believe NRD would have any effect on this and they have been waiving any admin fees with NRD at this point.
deliver42 Posted October 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2020 If you're doing a lift and shift, nothing will change, including the booking number. I changed the Apex from March 2021 to March, 2022.

Arizona Wildcat Posted October 5, 2020 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2020 When is your cruise? What cruise would you like to change to? Did you book with a TA or Celebrity? Obviously if later in 2022 you cannot L&S as most cruises not announced. Possible more cruises could be announced before L&S is scheduled to end or maybe L&S will be extended. Nobody knows today what and when things will happen.
Fouremco Posted October 5, 2020 #6 Share Posted October 5, 2020 If you are cancelling your existing booking and making a new booking for 2022, you can't retain pricing, perks, etc., as you can with lift and shift. You will be subject to whatever pricing, downpayment and perks that are in place at the time of your new booking.
wrk2cruise Posted October 5, 2020 #7 Share Posted October 5, 2020 I think OP is aware of everything stated about L&S and cancelling. The question was about just changing a sailing with a reduced non-refundable deposit to another sailing where they would retain the same booking number (and deposit). This was common practice prior to L&S and is still an option if L&S doesn't work out for you. While OP would have to reprice to the current price/promotion of the new cruise they are looking to retain their $25 deposit. The other note I'd make to the OP is that if they move the reservation (keeping the same booking number) I believe the reservation would remain NRD.
