Reduced Capacity

They are going to be processing plenty of FCC and refunds anyway as there's no way most of the ships in the fleet will be sailing Q1 of 2021.   I suspect the ones that are sailing their itineraries will be nowhere near what they were originally.

The main question is, what capacity % does X want to sail at, 60%?  The industry wide cruise pricing model has always been based on room category occupancy.  If X wants to sail 60% capacity and if they're only at 45% capacity 14 days before sailing, they can pull the discount switches of sail away pricing, utilize the bidding for upgrades and discounts for gamblers/seniors/vets/1st responders/low single supplements.

Actally there´s no need to speculate - taking a look at any cruise line already sailing gives a good (and logical) hint.

The cruises sailing in the beginning (at that will be quite a long time) will not be the cruises booked. They will be adapted to the Covid guidelines - changed in lenghts, itineraries, T&Cs regarding Covid policies etc etc.
All cruise lines already sailing simply canceled the existing bookings and opened the new sailings for booking.
They merely pressed the reset button so to speak.

There was no discussion of who gets to sail. No discussion if one booked a suite, is a top tier member or whatever - whoever books first gets to sail. Pretty simple solution.

This is what’s going to happen at least for the first few months.

They will reduce the lounge chairs and space them 6 ft apart.  This will lead to a whole new breed of super chair hogs!😀

Should lead to interesting reading on the boards.  🤣
